Graeter's Project Spotlight
Graeter’s is a Cincinnati landmark has announced plans to build a new Ice Cream facility in Bond Hill. Graeter’s has been making Ice Cream, chocolates and bakery goods since 1870. Due to significant expansion and growth, they will be building a new 28,000 Sq Ft Ice Cream Manufacturing plant. Rodem has been involved in this project from the start and have worked with Graeter’s management and manufacturing team to insure that the modernization of their process still allows for their original high temperature pasteurization process and French Pot method of freezing the Ice Cream to maintain their high quality and distinctive taste.
Rodem’s involvement began with the process, looking for the most cost effective and efficient method to modernize their existing process methods. That led into overall plant layout and optimization of utilities by exploring a variety of methods to cook and cool their products. In the end Graeter’s will have a modern facility while maintaining a very high level of flexibility and product consistency. The founder’s great grandsons still faithfully use the finest quality ingredients, trusted recipes and original processing methods of the founders.
The new facility will allow for significant expansion as they increase their distribution of Cincinnati’s favorite Ice Cream across the USA. We congratulate Graeter’s on their continued investment in Cincinnati and in their trust and confidence in Rodem to assist with their manufacturing process development.
